NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal once spent $1.3 million to buy three Rolls-Royces just to prove a point.
He walked into a dealership and the salesman apparently dismissed him because he thought Shaq was just going to waste his time.
For whatever reason, the salesman didn’t know who he was and thought he couldn’t afford the cars.
Well, he knows now.
Why Shaquille O’Neal spent $1.3 million just to prove a point
Shaq shared the story during an episode of the Drink Champs podcast on the Revolt YouTube channel.
He recounted how the salesman, an old man according to Shaq, had annoyed him by assuming he couldn’t afford the cars.
“I’m [in the showroom and] I’m like, ‘Hey man how much is this? How much is that?, and so finally the old guy says, ‘Yo man, you asked about all these cars, can you afford them?’ he said to me,” Shaq explained.
“So I buy three Rolls-Royces. That one, that one, and that one, and I want them dropped off. Move the seat back.”
A $1.3 million flex.
The NBA legend also admitted he did that out of pure pride, but he never actually drove the cars.
